Manchester City arrived at the City Ground on Saturday as the league's second-best team and left it having lost three Premier League games in a row. Nottingham Forest beat them 3-1, with Liam Delap, a former City player, scoring twice, according to Sky Sports.

It was the busiest part of a four-match Premier League Saturday, and the other three finished with a late Leeds winner, a narrow Arsenal win and a Newcastle comeback denied.

How did Nottingham Forest beat Manchester City 3-1?

Forest were ahead by the sixth minute. Jair Cunha won the ball from Josko Gvardiol and finished, and Delap made it 2-0 in the 18th, a lead City had not been behind by so early in a league game since November 2019, ESPN reported. Rayan Cherki pulled one back for City early in the second half, but Delap restored the margin around the 73rd minute with a shot in off the far post.

ESPN counted it as City's first run of three straight league defeats in two years, and noted that they had conceded three to a bottom-three side for the first time since September 2019. ESPN added that Forest had won only one of their first nine league games, and the result lifted them out of the relegation zone. City stay second, six points behind Arsenal.

Manager Enzo Maresca said his side did not match the intensity the game needed, and said it was too early to panic. Forest's Oliver Glasner called the win a possible turning point but cautioned that one swallow does not make a summer. Gvardiol and Marc Guehi were both replaced at half-time with knocks, per Sky.

Why did Leeds beat Tottenham 1-0?

At Elland Road, substitute Noah Okafor came on and scored 97 seconds later, in the 79th minute, finishing a pass from fellow replacement Harry Wilson, Sky Sports reported. It ended a five-game winless run for Leeds and lifted them to eighth, with Tottenham dropping to tenth.

The talking point was in the 34th minute, when Jayden Bogle caught Mathys Tel on the Achilles and referee John Brooks showed no card after a four-minute VAR check. Former referee Mike Dean said it was a clear red, while Leeds boss Daniel Farke called Bogle normally "probably the softest player in the whole league". Tel went off before half-time, and Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi was booked for his protests and will serve a touchline ban against Ipswich on 21 November.

What happened in the Arsenal and Fulham games?

Arsenal beat Hull City 1-0 and stayed top on 27 points from ten games, per ESPN's match report. Martin Odegaard scored in the 72nd minute, tapping in a rebound after Hull goalkeeper Tzolakis parried Noni Madueke's drive. It was Arsenal's seventh consecutive home win, and Hull, 13th on 11 points, had their moments, including a Norton-Cuffy goal-line clearance that kept the margin at one.

At Craven Cottage, Jacob Murphy gave Newcastle the lead in the 80th minute with a curling drive, and Rodrigo Muniz, a 65th-minute substitute, scrambled an 83rd-minute equaliser for Fulham, the ESPN report said. Fulham are 15th on ten points and Newcastle 12th on 12.

What comes next in the Premier League?

The table now has a clear shape at the top: Arsenal on 27, City six behind and suddenly short of confidence, and a bottom end where Forest's first real home result gives them some air. The next round is the first back after the international break, and City will spend it working out how a side that won its first seven league games has stopped winning.
