Editorial Policy

The Outspoken Digest is an independent e-magazine published by AVMDEVS LLC. This page sets out how our journalism and our recipes are researched, checked, corrected and paid for. It is the standard we hold ourselves to and the one readers are invited to hold us to.

Sourcing

Every article links inline to the primary material it rests on: the announcement, the court filing, the peer-reviewed paper, the regulator's notice, the company's own statement. Where a fact comes from another outlet's reporting we say so and link to it. Where we could not verify a claim against a primary or trusted secondary source, we leave it out rather than hedge it. Figures that circulate widely but cannot be traced to a document are not repeated here.

We check the date of what we cite. A study or report that is being recirculated years after publication is treated as what it is, and we say when a story doing the rounds is older than it looks.

Recipes

Our recipes are written from named sources and standard technique. Each names the dish's origin honestly, gives quantities in metric, states preparation and cooking times, and explains the reasoning behind each step so that a cook can judge what matters and what can flex. Where a dish has a protected designation, a regional convention or a genuine dispute about its authentic form, we say so rather than presenting one version as the only one.

We do not copy recipes from other publications. Historical and cultural claims about a dish are limited to what the cited sources support. When a reader tells us a quantity, a timing or a technique does not work, we test the correction and change the recipe.

Health and safety subjects

Articles about health, nutrition, exercise, diving and similar subjects report what the evidence shows, including its limits: the size and design of a study, whether it was randomised, whether the effect was measured in people or in animals, and who funded it. They are journalism, not advice, and they say so. Nothing on the Site replaces a qualified professional.

Photographs and credits

Every photograph carries a credit and, where the licence requires it, a link to its source. A picture is chosen to show something the article actually discusses; where the exact subject has no available photograph and a related one is used instead, the caption says so plainly.

Corrections

When we get something wrong we correct the article visibly and promptly. Substantive corrections are noted in the text. Readers who spot an error can write to editor@outspokendigest.com; every message is read.

Advertising and independence

Advertising funds the Digest and never steers it. Every advertisement is labelled as one, kept visually separate from the journalism and, where it is sold directly, carries its sponsor's name. Sponsored content, where it appears, is labelled as sponsored. Advertisers have no sight of, and no say in, what we publish. Third-party advertising is served by vendors described in our Privacy Policy.

Who writes

Articles are bylined to the desk responsible for them. The editorial team plans, researches, writes and checks the Digest using the tools of a modern newsroom, and takes responsibility for every word published under its name.
