Cam Little's 57-Yard Field Goal as Time Expires Gives the Jaguars a 19-17 Win Over the Eagles in London

Philadelphia led 17-16 with eight seconds left, then a 53-yard kickoff return set up a kicker who had missed an extra point. A brawl on the opening kickoff got two players ejected.

Eight seconds remained and the Philadelphia Eagles were ahead. Then everything the Jacksonville Jaguars needed arrived in two plays. Ameer Abdullah returned the kickoff 53 yards, and Cam Little, who had missed an extra point earlier in the quarter, kicked a 57-yard field goal as time expired to win 19-17 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, the AP reported.

Jake Elliott had put Philadelphia in front 17-16 with a 48-yard field goal. The kickoff return left Jacksonville one second, which was enough. Little ran into the far end zone to celebrate and later wore a Manchester United shirt to his post-game news conference.

How did the Jaguars beat the Eagles?

Trevor Lawrence completed 24 of 39 passes for 331 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, and Parker Washington caught six for 124 yards, scoring from 51 yards in the first quarter and from 27 yards late. Little added a 34-yard field goal in the third. The Eagles scored on a two-yard run by Will Shipley and a 62-yard pass from Jalen Hurts to Darius Cooper, and led 14-7 at the half. Hurts finished 21 of 40 for 220 yards, and, without Saquon Barkley, the Eagles rushed for only 22 yards, TSN's recap says.

What happened on the opening kickoff?

Jacksonville rookie Josh Cameron returned the opening kickoff 90 yards, but it was called back because of offsetting penalties, including a hold by Branson Combs. A scrum broke out at midfield, with pushing and shoving on both sides, and Jacksonville's Bryan Thomas Jr. and Philadelphia's Jeremiah Trotter Jr. were ejected. The recaps reviewed do not say what started it.

Lawrence, asked about the finish, said the game is never over. The Jaguars' special teams also had to improvise: backup snapper DaVon Hamilton handled the snap after Ross Matiscik was injured, per TSN, which made the final kick a little more fragile than its distance suggests.

What turned the game in the final minutes?

Two moments stand out. Just before halftime, Jacksonville went for it on fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line and Zack Baun stopped Bhayshul Tuten for a loss, preserving the Eagles' lead. And at the end, Eagles coach Nick Sirianni took the blame, saying his decision not to kick the ball out of bounds cost his team the game. "I didn't make the right decision, and I lost us that game," he said.

Washington's two touchdowns, both from Lawrence, were the offensive spine of the day, and the Eagles' own passing game could not make up for the missing ground attack. Jacksonville moved to 4-1. Philadelphia fell to 2-3, its first time at that mark since 2021. The Jaguars now leave London with momentum and a kicker who has just made the longest, most dramatic kick of his season; the Eagles go home with questions about their running game and their end-of-game decisions.
