El Al Plans a Record 63 Weekly Flights to the Americas for Summer 2027, With Buenos Aires and More New York
The Israeli flag carrier is betting on new Dreamliners: 36 weekly flights to New York, nine each to Miami and Los Angeles, plus Boston, San Francisco and a twice-weekly Buenos Aires link.

Airlines announce schedules the way other industries announce confidence. El Al's for the summer of 2027 is a loud one: a record programme between Israel and the Americas, built on a fleet it says is about to double in widebody capacity.
The plan was reported on 5 November by Aviation Week's Routes and Networks roundup, which says El Al plans to operate a record schedule between Israel and the Americas next summer, offering about 35,000 seats a week, all on Boeing 787s.
Which routes is El Al adding for summer 2027?
According to the same roundup, flights between Tel Aviv and New York's JFK and Newark airports rise to as many as seven a day, or 36 a week. Miami and Los Angeles each get nine a week and Boston four. San Francisco is listed at three a week, and Buenos Aires, a new destination, at two a week.
Those figures match what DansDeals reported on 3 November after speaking with the airline: a peak-season total of 63 weekly round trips. The same piece says New York currently has 27 a week, Miami and Los Angeles six each, and Boston three, with Buenos Aires launching later this month.
Why can El Al grow now?
The answer is aircraft. DansDeals reports that El Al has 17 Dreamliners, with firm orders for 11 more and options for six, and that another 787-9 arrives next week and one more next month. Four of the firm orders are for the larger 787-10. Without those deliveries, the arithmetic of a record schedule across the Atlantic does not work.
The same report says the airline is also studying next-generation business class seats that could debut with the 787-10, and that a planned app feature would let passengers volunteer to be bumped from oversold flights in exchange for compensation. DansDeals adds that El Al is exploring King David lounges at JFK, Newark, Paris, London and Bangkok, after its London, JFK and Paris lounges closed.
What changes for passengers?
DansDeals lists a few other plans, none of them confirmed as dates. Premium cabins will get flex fares, and the airline said it is not considering basic fares on US flights in any cabin. Free Starlink wifi is planned to start next year with no full rollout timeline, a Travel Mode in the app opens 48 hours before departure, and an AI assistant will take first-line enquiries. At JFK, El Al is considering a move from Terminal 4 to the New Terminal One, which is due to open in early 2027.
Tickets for the new flights were said to go on sale later this week. As always with a schedule filed this far ahead, frequencies are intentions, and the fares and the aircraft arriving on time will decide how much of it flies. Travellers should check the airline's own booking pages before planning around any of these numbers.
